Juvéderm® Ultra 2 is an injectable implant used for filling medium-sized depressions of the skin via mid-dermis injection and for lip definition. The presence of lidocaine is meant to reduce the patient’s pain during treatment.

Juvéderm® ULTRA is a line of gels with a smooth consistency composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring ingredient in the skin that helps increase volume and hydration. Clinicians employ Juvéderm® ULTRA injectable gels to quickly restore skin volume, smooth out facial creases and folds, and reshape lips.

A sterile, pyrogen-free physiological solution of cross-linked hyaluronic acid, Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 is not animal-derived. Gel comes in a graded, pre-filled, disposable syringe. Two 0.55 mL Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 syringes, two single-use 30G1/2″ sterilized needles, an instruction sheet, and traceability labels are included in each box.

• Avoid injecting Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 in the eyelids. Only trained professionals with a thorough understanding of under-eye physiology should apply this method.
• Avoid intravascular injections to avoid embolization, blockage, ischemia, and infarction.
• Do not overcorrect.

Avoid Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 in these situations:

• Patients with untreated epilepsy.
• Hypertrophic scarring patients.
• Patients with hyaluronic acid or gram-positive bacterial protein allergies.
• Patients with lidocaine or amide-type local anesthetic hypersensitivity.
• Porphyria patients.
• Women pregnant or nursing.
• Children.

Juvéderm® ULTRA 2 should not be used on acne, herpes, or other inflammatory skin conditions.

Lasers, intense chemical peels, and dermabrasion should not be utilized with Juvéderm® ULTRA 2. If the product causes substantial inflammation, avoid injecting it for surface peels.

After-care:

• Avoid vigorous exercise, sun or heat exposure, and alcohol to reduce transient redness, swelling, and itching.
