About the product

JUVEDERM® ULTRA SMILE dermal fillers can be injected into the corners of the mouth to improve perioral wrinkles and make asymmetrical lips appear more balanced. Can also increase volume to the lips, making them appear plumper and fuller. Med Supply Solutions offers JUVEDERM® medicines at competitive costs.

Protocol

Juvederm® ULTRA SMILE dermal fillers are designed to improve lip shape and correct vertical lines. Ultra Smile is a greater viscosity dermal filler than Juvéderm® VOLIFT, requiring more manipulation to achieve proper product distribution and the absence of lumps following treatment. It is also better suited to those who want a significant lip augmentation.

Indications

Juvederm® ULTRA SMILE is an injectable implant used to fill mid and/or deep skin depressions using dermal injections, as well as to define and enhance the lips.

The use of lidocaine is intended to alleviate the patient's pain during therapy.

Properties

Juvéderm® ULTRA SMILE is a sterile pyrogen-free physiological solution of cross-linked hyaluronic acid that is not of animal origin. The gel is presented in a graduated, pre-filled, disposable syringe. Each box contains two 0.55mL syringes, 2 single-use 30G1/2” sterile needles to be used only for injecting Juvéderm® product, an instruction leaflet and a set of labels in order to ensure traceability.

How to use

Technique: Injection

  • Due to its softer consistency, Juvederm® requires superficial to mid-dermal lip injections.
  • For precision placement and little stress, 30G or 32G needles with short bevels are employed.
  • Due to the risk of overfilling, cannulas are not recommended for Juvederm® Ultra Smile lip injections.
  • Injection strategy depends on desired result:
  • Lip volume augmentation with serial puncture
  • Smoothing lip line using linear threading
  • Cupid's bow for center upper lip shape

Key Considerations:

  • Licensed lip augmentation specialists use Juvederm® Ultra Smile.
  • Determining injection locations, filler amount, and patient appropriateness requires thorough investigation.
  • Minimizing infection risks requires aseptic approach.
  • Lidocaine reduces pain, but some patients need local anesthetic.
  • Gentle massage following injection eliminates lumps and evens product distribution.
  • Bruising, swelling, and pain in the lips may occur. Inform patients.

Additional Tips:

  • A blunt needle tip reduces tissue damage.
  • Start with a small amount of filler and inject gradually, giving patient feedback.
  • Overfilling can make lips look fake.
  • Encourage patients to rest and avoid lip manipulation for 24–48 hours after injection.

Remember:

  • Candidates undergoing Juvederm® Ultra Smile augmentation should not have cold sores or facial herpes.
  • Allergan's product information covers prescription, safety, and contraindications.

Contraindications:

  • Avoid injecting Juvéderm® ULTRA SMILE dermal fillers in the eyelids, crow's feet, and forehead. Only trained professionals with a thorough understanding of under-eye physiology should apply.
  • Avoid intravascular injections. Embolization, vessel blockage, ischemia, and infarction can result from intravascular injection.
  • Do not overcorrect.

Juvéderm® is contraindicated for patients with untreated epilepsy, hypertrophic scarring, known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or gram-positive bacterial proteins, lidocaine or amide-type local anesthetics, porphyria, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or children.

Avoid using in acne, herpes, and other inflammatory and infectious regions.

Juvéderm® should not be used with laser, deep chemical peels, or dermabrasion. If the product causes substantial inflammation, avoid injecting it for surface peels.

After-care:

Makeup should be avoided for 12 hours after injections.

Sunlight, UV rays, temperatures below 0°C, sauna, and hammam sessions should be avoided for two weeks after injections.
